## Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to implement A2X?
It can be very fast, depending on the availability of access to key systems - Xero & Shopify (for example). In Xero there may be a need to add a few G/L accounts to handle certain transaction types. In Shopify, it's just a case of allowing access to the payout data.
The mapping of transaction types to accounts tends to be the most time consuming part of the setup.
How does the account mapping work?
It works well, thanks. Figuring it out can be a challenge - that's why we're here to help.
It's been structured to handle many scenarios and as such may not be intuitive, particularly with respect to the tax related transactions. However, once mastered, it works a treat, allowing GST or VAT to be coded accurately to where it is required.
How can I account for GST related to two countries?
This is a common challenge in New Zealand & Australia where an instance of Shopify may be selling into NZ & Australia and collecting tax from each country. The GST for the country the Xero instance is set up for needs to be the main focus of coding, to ensure the local GST information is kept accurate and allows for direct submission of the GST returns from Xero.
The second country GST must be treated as Zero Rated or GST on Exports in the home country accounts and the dollar value accumulated in a Liability account to allow easy calculation for payment to the other country.
