Mark is passionate about finding ways to improve systems, processes, and anything else he can get his hands on. Mark likes to build things (software, hardware, furniture … just about anything), fix things, figure out how things work and see how they could work better.
Mark has been working as an independent developer since 2011 when he and his wife moved to NZ. He took a few years off (starting 2014) to be a full-time stay-at-home dad for their first 2 kids and started back part-time in software development in 2018, and has been slowly moving into full-time, especially since returning to Canada (October, 2019)
Mark has been a Full Stack Web/Software Developer professionally for about 15 years, but has been writing software since he was 8 years old. (back before there was an internet ... to date himself ;))
Mark has started playing with 3D printing recently and hopes to do lots of fun and interesting things with that in 2020.
When he’s not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their 3 kids (usually outdoors), as well as tinkering with electronics and cars and ... well, almost anything. Did we mention, he loves board games? (real ones ... not Monopoly) oh and video games, puzzles, and of course ... baking.
